In short: Positive Stocks is a free place to learn how investing works, follow real company news, and use simple tools, all explained in plain words. This post explains what we are building and what the little moving chart in our logo stands for.
What Positive Stocks is
Positive Stocks is an investor education and news site. You can learn the basics, read about real companies, play investing games, and run free calculators that show you the math. Everything is written for people who want to understand what they are doing with their money, not for people who want to be told what to buy.
We keep the tone calm and the words simple. If a term is confusing, our glossary explains it. If a number matters, there is probably a calculator for it. If you want to test yourself, Stock Jeopardy is a good place to start.
What the logo means

The Positive Stocks logo is three bars that rise from left to right, and in our site they move gently up and down like a live chart. Each bar has a meaning.
The first bar is coral and the shortest. It stands for where everyone starts: small, a little unsure, and willing to learn. The second bar is gold and sits in the middle. It stands for steady learning, the part where habits form and mistakes teach you something. The third bar is green and the tallest. It stands for momentum, what happens when good habits stack up over years.
The movement matters too. Markets go up and down. Your results will too. We wanted a mark that moves the way real charts move and still points upward over time.
What you will find here
We publish guides on valuing a stock, building a portfolio, reading a balance sheet, understanding dividends, and spotting risk in small companies. Start with how to value a stock or how to build a stock portfolio. Our market news page pulls in free public feeds from the Federal Reserve and the SEC, so you can see what is happening without the noise.
We also build tools. There are thirteen free calculators today, from the P/E ratio to dollar cost averaging, and each one has its own plain English guide. More games and tools are on the way, along with company profiles so you can do your own research in one place.
How we think about investing
Investing is not a get rich quick game. It is a skill, and like any skill it gets better with practice. We believe in doing your own research, keeping risk small while you learn, and writing down why you made each decision. We also believe it should be kind. You do not need to feel behind or stupid to start.
Nothing on this site is investment advice. We are an education and information site. Always speak with a licensed professional before you make decisions with your money, and read our disclaimer and privacy policy.
Who Positive Stocks is for
Positive Stocks is for the person who just opened a brokerage account and does not know what to do next. It is for the parent who wants to teach a teenager how money grows. It is for the small business owner who watches the markets and wants better context. And it is for anyone who has been burned by hype and wants something calmer.
You do not need a finance degree. You do need curiosity and a little patience. If you can read a menu and compare two prices, you can learn to compare two companies.
Our standards for what we publish
Every guide on this site follows a few simple rules. We explain the idea first, then show a worked example with real numbers, then point out the common mistakes. We link to free official sources like the SEC and Investor.gov so you can check our work. We avoid hype words, price targets and promises, because nobody can predict the market, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something.
We update posts when facts change and we show the date on each page. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and we would like you to hold us to it too.
Where we are going next
The next steps are a directory of public companies where each company gets its own profile page, a stock comparison tool, an earnings calendar, and more games to make learning fun. We are building these in the open, one piece at a time, and every new tool will come with its own plain English guide just like the calculators do.
